Passport photos in Hollywood, FL
Joey G Photography takes passport photos for adults, children and babies at the studio on Simms Street in Hollywood. Passport photos are by appointment only, so call to book and come dressed for the rules below.
A passport photo is a small portrait with strict rules. A print that is the wrong size, too dark, edited, or taken with glasses on can hold up an application. The rules below are the US Department of State’s, for the photo you send with a paper application, so you can arrive ready.
Passport photos are by appointment only. Call 954-986-4455 to book. Babies and children are welcome, and visa, green card and other countries’ photos are taken the same way.
US passport photo requirements
These are the US Department of State’s rules for the photo that goes with a paper passport application or renewal form. If you renew online, the State Department has you upload a digital photo instead.
-
Size
2 x 2 inches (51 x 51 mm). The head measures 1 to 1 3/8 inches (25 to 35 mm) from the bottom of the chin to the top of the head.
-
Recent and in color
One color photo, taken in the last 6 months, showing a clear image of your face.
-
Background and light
A white or off-white background with no shadows, texture or lines, and even lighting on the face. Not overexposed, not too dark.
-
Pose and expression
Face the camera directly with your full face in view and your head straight. Neutral expression, both eyes open, mouth closed.
-
Glasses
Take off eyeglasses, sunglasses and tinted glasses. If you cannot remove them for medical reasons, include a signed note from your doctor with the application.
-
Hats and head coverings
Take them off. A covering worn daily for religious reasons, or for medical reasons, can stay with a signed statement. The full face must show with no shadows, and the covering should be one color with no patterns or small holes.
-
Clothing and extras
No uniforms, clothing that looks like a uniform, or camouflage. No headphones or wireless devices. Masks and face coverings come off. Jewelry and facial piercings are fine if they do not hide your face.
-
Print quality
High resolution, not blurry, grainy or pixelated, printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper. No edits with software, apps, filters or AI. No photocopies, scans, holes, creases or smudges.
-
Babies and children
Every child needs a photo too. A baby’s eyes do not have to be fully open, but there should be no shadows on the face. Older children must have their eyes open.
